acrylics

Acrylic paints are synthetic resin-based emulsion paints which are used in the same way as water paints but look like oil paints.

They are relatively modern, pigmented paints which are combined with synthetic acryl resins. Acrylic paints combine the advantages of oil paints with those of tempera or gouache. As long as they have not dried out, they can be diluted with water. Acrylic paints are water-resistant when they have dried and can be used to blanket over large areas. Acrylic paints were developed in the 1960?s.

To date the Mural.at team has used acrylic paints very successfully and therefore has a particular liking for working with them.
