secco

A secco is a painting on dry rendering or on an otherwise completed wall in contrast to a fresco.

From a technical point of view, secco painting is easier than fresco painting because the rendering can be fully applied all in one go. The rendering, whether new or previously existent, can simply be painted on without further preparation.

  • It is the preferred method for interiors.
  • The wall to be painted must not be damp in any way.

A variety of painting materials, depending on the surface to be painted, can be used for a secco painting.

Nowadays acryl or mineral paints are usually used. Secco painting is a technique preferred by us and one in which we have a wealth of experience. We have been working with it since 1996 and have always had good results.
